Obituary of Aileen Thorne

Aileen was born in Summerville, Massachusetts and raised in Curryville and Moncton, NB. In 1952, she married Donald Thorne and for the next two years they lived in Woodstock, NB. In 1954, they relocated to Sussex where they celebrated the next 58 years of marriage. Aileen was a community minded person. She belonged to the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch # 20, TOPS and was a very active member in the St. Paul's United Church UCW and a life member of the church. She was a leader with St. Paul's Explorers and a Brown Owl with the Roachville Brownie Group. She gave of herself very freely and always put her family first and foremost. Aileen is survived by her three daughters: Donalda Storey and her husband Harry of Berwick, Lori Webb of Roachville and Patsy Shay of Vancouver, BC; three sisters-in-law: Florence and Joan both of Ont and Joan of Halifax; her brother-in-law, Harry Masters of Moncton; Four grandchildren: Allison Rehel, Kristen Shay, Tommy Storey and his wife Heather, and Holly Storey; two great grandchildren: Brooke and Colton; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mary Aileen of Sussex, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on March 1, 2011 at the age of 82. Aileen was predeceased by her sister, Eunice Masters and by her brothers: Robert, Reginald and Kenneth. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176).
