Obituary of Mary Frances Bickerton
Mrs. Mary Bickerton was born on November 14, 1926 in London, England, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Hazell) Deegan.
She came to Canada as a war bride in 1946, serving for 16 years postwar in the Canadian Army Militia. She was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, a past President of the Sussex Branch # 20 as well as the 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise's) Association.
Mary served as a director for King's Manor and the Kiwanis Nursing Home. She was a member of the Trinity Anglican Church Choir.
She will live on in the hearts of Gordon, her beloved husband; their daughter, Patricia and Joe Butler of Sussex; their sons: Michael and his wife Barbara of Parleeville, John and Glenda Baker of Gambo, Newfoundland; seven grandchildren: Michelle Kennedy, Jamie Bickerton and Jennifer Paisley, Jeffrey Bickerton and Wanda Willigar, Laura Clark and her husband Conan, Scarlett Baker, Dana Douthwright and her husband Brad and Jennifer Simon and her husband Shanon; nine great grandchildren: Kurtis, Cameron, Brooke, Sam, Carly, Anna, Charlotte, Sophia and Dawson; as well as a niece and several nephews.
Mrs. Frances Mary Bickerton of Sussex, passed away on July 12, 2016 at the age of 89.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Thursday from 1-3 and 6-8pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20 will host a tribute on Thursday Evening at 5:45.
A service celebrating Mary's life will be held from Trinity Anglican Church on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11:00 am.
