Obituary of Sandi Corcoran
Sandi was born in Labrador City on November 13, 1978 and the family moved to New Brunswick when she was three. She worked for 10 years at the Superstore, starting in high school, and then while attending St. Andrews Community College. She and David met and became good friends during their community college days and over time, that friendship grew into a deep love and a beautiful beginning to a family. After college, Sandi worked in the accounting department with JD Irving Ltd. for more than a decade.
Sandi was raised by her maternal grandparents, Ron and Fern Jewer, but was still an integral part of her parents lives. She was part of an ever growing family and cherished the relationships she had with each and every one of them.
She often said, "Nobody's perfect, but she and David obtained perfection twice". Samantha and Abigail are everything to her and David. Sandi's favorite times with the girls were spent crafting, cooking or simply snuggling and having a chat. Sandi always said that "being a mom brought out the best in her and that's because she put her best into being a mom."
Sandi dreamed in colours. It's true, she would recall dreams to David at least once a week, including the most minute details. The vivid colours, the combination of people only explainable in the fact that it must be a dream. She could recall them all. Sandi knew who she was. In some
respects she felt like the oldest, the youngest or the only child, but she knew who she was. She loved Dr. Who, a character she considered a helper to anyone. She could sing every word of Bohemian Rhapsody and the theme song to The Big Bang Theory and would do it as loud as she could in the car.
Sandi never lied. EVER. Honesty was the best policy and she had become an open book, so to speak. She shared details of what she has been through in hopes it would help others if they found themselves going through the same thing. From her cancer treatments, to miscarriages, to giving birth, Sandi would chat with anyone.
She was very artistic, a talented painter of landscapes and nature. She also loved to draw. Sandi had a scientific mind and was strong minded and determined. Sandi was an amazing example of strength, courage and conviction. Both Abigail and Samantha personify her best attributes. Sandi said how much she loved them every single day without fail. They were her strength, her lasting legacy. "We have lost our rock, best friend, our Mama Bear, but we haven't lost all the guidance she has instilled in us. I want everyone reading this to build on her legacy. Be more like Sandi. Be that open book". ~ Dave
