Obituary of Donald Robert MacDonald
Mr. Donald Robert MacDonald was born in Saint John on May 3, 1943, he was the son of the late Robert and Myrtle (Anderson) MacDonald.
Don was the owner of Don’s Used Cars and Auto Parts since 1967. Cars were his passion and you might say that he “ate, breathed and slept” all things car related. He could often be found at the Demolition Derby in Riverglade towing the cars in from the track or at one of the auctions in Moncton looking for his next great bargain. Don loved to go for drives and he hadn’t found a weather system that could hold him up. “Midnight Motors”, as he was often referred to, was always on the go.
Don was a caring and kind man who was always willing to help someone out. He raised his family all on his own and his children have many special memories of growing up happy and loved. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved his family very much. He will be greatly missed
Don is survived by his sons: Ray MacDonald of River Glade and Randy MacDonald and Melissa Stevens of Cornhill; his daughters Sharon and Colin Burke of Stewart, BC and Shirley and Doug Geldart of Smiths Creek; his brother Bill MacDonald and Lynn Cunningham of Sussex; his sister Linda Payne and Blair Miller of Sussex; his sister-in-law Jeannie O'Neill of Sussex; his grandchildren: Jason, Paul, Bonnie, Courtney, Megan, Shyanne, Justus, Brandon, Broc, Braxston, Chelsey, Carly, Cody, Tyler, Chadd, Samantha, Dylan and Becky; his great grandchildren: Tianna, Caleb, Clohe, Addison, Tanika, Chenille, Zee, Aubrianna and Liam; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
