Obituary of Brenda Lee Bartlett Johnstone

Brenda Lee Bartlett was born in Sussex, NB on June 19, 1962. She was the eldest child of Donald and Angela (Smith) Bartlett. She lived in Ontario most of her life, where she gave life to her beautiful and loving children. In 1997, Brenda’s life was forever changed when she met her soul mate and love of her life at Karaoke. She loved to sing but her heart would skip a beat and melt, whenever Hugh would sing to her. She was so in love with him that she proposed first. They knew they would not be complete without one another and on July 31, 1999 they were bonded together for eternity. Family is what Brenda thrived for, there was nothing more important to her than her family, her Shaggy and Gizmo and her friends. She was very active in her kids lives and always took part in anything that they were involved in. She rarely missed a baseball game for Hugh or the kids; she loved watching Hugh umpire, she even coached. Brenda was a very strong woman, when she became sick and had to endure hundred of surgeries, she still managed to stay strong. She was the pillar of her family and taught them all the true meaning of the word ‘Fighter’. Brenda loved hockey, whether it was her beloved Toronto Maple Leafs or watching Hugh play. There was always a loving rivalry at home when the Leafs played the Habs. She was made of the kind of compassion that people want in a friend. She would be the first to help someone in need and never ask for anything in return. She had a smile and laugh that was infectious and a huge heart, people were naturally drawn to her. Brenda was never one to do for herself, but she loved to tan and get her nails done and she always dreamed of going to Newfoundland, Hawaii, Nashville and Las Vegas. She loved to cross stitch, cook, bake, play cards and pool and she watched her soaps religiously. She collected bears and anything Toronto Maple Leafs. Brenda was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed every second of every day by each live she touched.
