I light this candle, in memory of a very dear, sweet and kind friend who I first met in Elementary School all those years ago. We were good friends throughout High School, but lost contact with each other after graduation. We recently got in contact with each other through Facebook, and we both discovered that we were second cousins, on my father's and her mother's side of the Thorne family. It was my late grandfather Austin Thorne, who was a brother to Mary Jane's late grandmother, Carrie (Thorne) Murray. We were especially delighted to learn of this exciting news. Who knew that it is indeed, such a small world! I was very deeply saddened to learn of Mary Jane's illness, especially after all that she had been through. She was and is, my hero! I will always treasure our many talks over both Facebook and with Messenger. Mary Jane will indeed be missed by all who came to know, and to love her.

I met Mary Jane after her cancer diagnosis and was privileged to spend time with her over several months.
The Mary Jane I knew was a woman of faith, possessed of great strength, a wonderful sense of humour,
a bright intelligence, a beautiful warm smile, and a grace in the face of her prognosis that was truly inspiring.
It was a gift to me to spend her final year getting to know her. Thank you, Mary Jane. Go on peace.
Her greatest joy was her two sons. Kurt and Dustin, you will always carry within you the best of your mother
who cherished you both.

I am deeply saddened for the loss of such a beautiful lady Mary Jane. I had only met her a few times while she was sick but she had a huge impact on me right away. I have never met a more lovely and kind and positive lady in all my life, she never complained and accepted her fate with the battle of Cancer. I will miss Mary Jane very much but she is in my thought and prayers and I know she is now at peace and has no more pain. If Mary Jane does not go to heaven the rest of us do not stand a chance. R.I.P. Mary Jane you are so loved and will be sadty missed by us all who had a chance to have got the chance to meet her.

Prayers to you all, it has been a hard journey the passed few years, I was blessed to have been part of her life for more than 30 yrs, my heart has comfort knowing i was there with her every week & during her last days.after she got sick she loved coming here for weekends to be on the ocean just to think and smell the sea. I was blessed to have her in my life. To her family,my heart goes out to you,, prayers to you. she was loved by all her friends.
