Obituary of Nancy Lynn Dixon

Mrs. Nancy Lynn (Peck) Dixon was born in Barrie Simcoe, Ontario on March 19, 1956. She was the daughter of the late Sam and Una (Beaman) Peck. Nancy's life was her family first and then her kitchen. She also had a passion for the vegetable garden and the flower pots and flower beds. She had a job she loved, working as a caregiver for Red Cross, treating every client as if they were family. Then there were the Movie Nights with her grandson Hayden, Sci-Fi, or some horror show, they just loved it and Hayden would say Grammy said "it was ok". Nancy lived a pretty simple life with many close friends. Her comfort in life as many who knew her was being in her kitchen. Me being the guinea pig (Don) she took her cooking and baking to new heights, I gained the weight. She would love to go out about once a month and visit. She stayed very close to some, because we all know people move around and you lose contact with them. She was known as Hurricane Nancy by some of my PEI family, because we use to vacation over there and most of the time we would have rain and clear up when we leave. IN the Summers, her and her friend Charlene Jones would have pool days at Charlene's pond. Music and a couple of friendly drinks. All in All, Nancy was a creature of habit. You knew what to expect when she got home from work, from her it was with a smile "hi, how was your day". Nancy's mission was to care for the seniors, she loved it, she took great pride in the profession. Nancy was a loving person and loved living the simple country life as appose to City living. To truly appreciate Nancy, you had to come in her kitchen and have a plate, a bowl, or a dessert. To round her off, she was just wanting to be living in the country and be able to see her Daughter and grandson, she loved Sussex. She will live on in the hearts and memories of the love of her life, Don; her daughter, Samantha Dixon; her stepdaughter, Kyla Montminy-Ball of Ontario; her brothers: John Peck of Riverview and Lawrence Peck and Kate O`Brien of Toronto; her sister, Carol Lirette and her husband Dollard of Moncton; her grandson, Hayden and step grandson, Brennan; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Nancy Lynn Dixon passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Sussex Health Center on October 10, 2016 at the age of 60.
