Verda Fanjoy

Obituary of Verda Mildred Fanjoy

Mrs. Verda Mildred Fanjoy was born in Sussex on May 24, 1930; she was the daughter of the late Willard and Mildred (Burns) Mitton. Over the years, she had many great times at the cottage in Mechanic Lake and the hunting camp in Donegal. It was here she was able to spend countless times with Harry. They even lived one winter in the little shack and loved every minute of it. Regardless of the fact that it was so cold that your hair could freeze to the wall, as you slept. She not only enjoyed the beauties of nature and had a true appreciation for the outdoors, but she was a great shot and loved to hunt. Verda really enjoyed playing cards - although she had a hard time learning to play Auction 45's and threw her cards and accused Harry of cheating the first time they played together. It was the simple things around her in life that she never took for granted, commenting daily how fortunate and thankful she was. Above all, Verda was absolutely devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild. Family gatherings were the most important thing to her and she was very proud of the generations that followed her. She will be greatly missed. She will live on in the hearts of her loving husband of 66 years, Harry; her daughters: Sandra Dunn and her husband Greg and Cheryl Parlee and her husband David; her son, Bradley Fanjoy and Karen; her sisters: Eileen Cole, Jackie Armstrong and Betty Myers and her husband Raleigh; her brother, Bobby Mitton and his wife Paulette; her sister-in-law, Alice Mitton; her grandchildren: Kim, Derrick, Krista, Kathryn, Justin, Sarah, Jonah, Daynah, Jaydah and Ben; her great grandchildren: Kayla, Jennica, Kacey, Cory, Nathan, Reece, Alyssa, and Noah; her great great grandchild: Callie; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers: Earl, Murray, Doug, Walter, Cecil and Vernon Mitton; her sister, Margaret Bruce and by her great grandson, Lincoln Keith.
