Obituary of David Folkins
Mr. David Folkins was born in Roachville on March 18, 1943. He was the son of the late Emery and Hazel (Long) Folkins.
He was the epitome of a hard working man, he was a welder by day and a farmer and Mr. Fix-it by night. David worked as a welder for NY Thermal for many years, he loved his job very much and even named his welder, Betsy. He made many friends there over the years and missed it very much, after he left. There was really nothing that David couldn't fix, so when his day would end at NY Thermal; he would go home to the farm to fix the equipment and anything else that may need tended to.
There was nothing David loved more than his family; especially when he was surrounded by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
David will live on in the hearts of his loving wife, Jean; his daughters: Nancy White-Brett and her husband Todd, and Cindy Folkins-Beers and her husband Johnson; his sister, Grace Szajkowski of Brampton; his brother, Willard of Mount Middleton; his grandchildren: Tim Manuel and his wife Amanda, Matt Manuel and his wife Ashley, Michael Folkins and his wife Misty, Kaylynn Perry and her husband Josh, Charles Folkins, Dakota Folkins, Travis White (Holly Teakles), Brendan White (Natasha Arbeau), Christina (Joey), Andrew Brett, Lexus Beers (Wendel Decker), Kaylee Berrs (Tyler McLean), and Mackenzie Beers; his great-grandchildren: Bailey, London, Carter, Savana, Ben, Milo, Bayen, Brooklyn, Emily, Erin, Dylan, Jaiden, Olivia, Canon, and Summer; as well as several extended family members and friends.
Mr. David Folkins of Mount Middleton passed away on October 19, 2016 at the age of 73.
He is predeceased by his brother, Borden and by his brother-in-law, Zbigniew Szajkowski.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). To honor David's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service held.
