Obituary of Robert Murray Kyle
Bob was born in Sussex on November 24, 1932. He was a son of the late Frank and Margaret (Brown) Kyle and the loving husband of 59 years to Carol (Secord) Kyle.
Bob started his career in the parts department of Lawson Motors, working his way up to Service Manager through the years, eventually retiring from Royal Pontiac in his early 60’s. Even after his retirement, Bob was the guy to call when a dealership needed a car picked up or delivered. You could always depend on him to get the job done. Bob always looked after people and when he wasn’t on one of his many journeys, you might find him “shuttling” people to and from the hospital, the Dr’s office or any number of important places. He was a calm, cool, reliable fellow, with an extreme sense of organization.
Bob and Carol were members of the Sussex Baptist Church and he was an affiliate member of the RCL - Sussex Branch#20 for many years. Bob was also a volunteer fire fighter with the Sussex Fire Department for more than 30 years. He loved his western movies and novels and his daily ritual of visiting Tim’s every morning for a coffee and time socializing with friends. Often, after his time at Tim’s, Bob would join a group of gentleman for a good game of 45’s.
In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and ski-dooing and over the years he, Carol and the family, had many wonderful adventures at Pleasant Lake, the Kyle Family cottage in St. Martins and at “Phil-A-Munroe”
Bob was a family man. He treasured time spent with his best friend Carol and his children and their families. He would absolutely “light up” when he was in the company of his grandchildren. Bob had an amazing sense of humour and his laughter was contagious. He was loved so very deeply and will truly be missed.
