Obituary of Jean Brown
Jean was born in Hammond, NB on November 4, 1931, she was the daughter of the late George Henry Armstrong and Mary Etta (Lisson) and the wife of the late Reginald Brown who passed away in 2011.
In the late 40's on the family farm in Long Settlement, George Armstrong hired a man, Reginald Brown to work for him; after some time had passed a girl began to show up with tea and a lunch everytime Reg would work. On September 30, 1950 they would be married and Reg and Jean would begin their lives together. She lived for the old fashion way of life, whether it was tending to horses, cows and all the little critters that came into her life, her flower garden or her caring for her wonderful family.
Jean was a woman of compassion, empathy. love and strong faith. It didn't matter what she was doing or who they were, if they needed something or had a problem she would drop everything to come to their aid. She loved being surrounded by people, and always enjoyed visiting with company. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and in minutes know everything there was to know about them. No matter how hard they tried, the teapot and the cookie cans were never empty at Jean's house.
She never forgot a birthday or an anniversary. She was meticulous in finding the perfect card and gift. She never missed a local event; whether it was a lunch, a shower or a fundraiser. Jean would be there with bells on.
In her early years, Jean attended school in St. Martin's and loved it so much that when she made the list of places she would like to return to before her time on earth was done; it was at the top of the list. She was so happy to have made it to every place, one last time.
Jean will live on in the hearts of her sons: Glenn Brown and his wife Ruth and Doug Brown and his wife Rosemary all of McGreggor Brook; her grandchildren: Scott Brown (Lindy) and Rachel Brown; her step grandchildren: Kelly McLellan and Jenna Munro and their families; her great grandchildren: Jack and Hannah; her brother-in-law, Richard Brown and her special nieces: Sheila Drury and Barb Dionne and her husband Jean Claude.
