Obituary of Chet Milley
Mr. Chesley "Chet" Milley was born in Saint John on April 5, 1930. He was the son of the late Harold and Mary (Green) Milley.
Chet worked for the Commissionaires at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing for many years. That is where he would meet, his second chance at happiness. The first time Chet met Freda was the day of her job interview at Ridgewood. He held the door open for her, little did they know that he would continue to hold the door open for her for the next 28 years.
He was not a man who needed many hobbies or
activities. He was a simple man who enjoyed the time he spent with Freda, his family, the church and their many animals over the years.
Chet loved to travel, but he would be the first to tell you that "Freda is a much better driver". Needless to say, their five trips across Canada were done with Chet in the passenger seat.
He will live on in the hearts of his beloved wife of 27 years, Freda and by his brother, Bill Milley and his wife Rona of Saint John; his nieces and nephews: Carol Milley and Bobby Milley; Rodney, Steve, Peter. Susan and Margaret Johnston and Pamela Secord, Trevor Secord and Angela and her husband Justin Gullison.
Mr. Chesley "Chet" Milley of Young's Cove, went peacefully to be with his Lord with his loving wife by his side on February 19, 2017 at the age of 86.
He is predeceased by his sister, Joan Johnston and her husband Rodney.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm.
