As it so often happens, we manage, through some sense of connection, to find coincidence in our lives.
Today I spent time filing down the welds on a piece of flat-bar on the rear bridge of a Lee Enfield No4 MKI, then applying cold bluing. I had won the bid on this rifle, months ago, at one of Kevin’s auctions. And finally got around to doing it, and calling the gunsmith to arrange a date to drill the scope base holes. And having a Pale Moose during the process.
Got a feeling and went on the website and there it was – Kevin’s gone.
My wife, Judy, and I have filled our home with “Canadiana” acquired from Kevin, and Russell, Bond’s auctions. Matter of fact, Russell had an auction at our home the weekend before it was our home. And, we’ve been on the other side of the accounting sheet as well - when Kevin auctioned off the majority of my father’s estate.
At this stage in our lives we certainly don’t need any more stuff. Case in point, this Enfield is not only a No4, it’s also number four. But we still attended - and bid. At the last auction we spent close to five hundred dollars.
The pale ale is gone and I have just poured a dram of single malt. Slàinte, my friend.

I was saddened to see that Kevin had passed. I met him years ago when his father had an auction at my family's then home. He and his father both had such a knowledge of what they were selling that you were lucky to go to one of their auctions to learn something, have a chuckle and never know what spontaneous action was coming. This is a loss to our community - no doubt!
Every time I spoke with Kevin it was pleasurable. A kind man with a twinkle in his eyes and a tremendous love of family. I know he is catching up with family and friends and is preparing for that great auction!!
I wish his family pleasant memories and knowing how blessed they were and we all were to have Kevin in our lives!
RIP Kevin

We are so very sorry to hear of the passing of Kevin. We attended many auctions in Hampton, and enjoyed everyone. Kevin was so knowledgeable, about " his" antiques. I loved his singing, and his antics...made the day even more enjoyable.
We will miss his kind voice, and caring nature. His love of Nathaniel showed through when speaking of his tying of flies or his organic produce. And he always spoke of his " lovely wife" when he spoke about his Judy!
Over time, you will come to speak of the joyous time, and memories of your life with Kevin, and one day be with him again

Dear Bond family - Kevin will always be in our hearts and minds. He was a wonderful person who had a deep love and compassion for everyone - as a child and later as a worker for Kevin, Caleb Foote always thought highly of Kevin - and we are forever grateful for how Kevin took Caleb under his wing.
Attending auctions over the years we will forever remember Kevin, and his passion for history.
During this time of transition - you will be in our thoughts and prayers as you travel this road. The Foote family

Judy I prayed for you and Kevin every night. He is with the Lord now so I will pray for you. I have known you since we were kids and I am so sorry for your loss. I only met Kevin a few times but I always thought you were so blessed to have him in your life. If you ever want to visit or talk I am very close. God Bless you at this painful time
