Obituary of Carl Leonard Gregg

Mr. Carl Gregg was born in Sussex on September 7, 1958, a son of the late John and Ellinor (Pederson) Gregg. Carl grew up in Mt. Pisgah New Brunswick on the family farm and always loved farming. After Carl’s school days, he moved to Ontario and began working on other various farms. For the past 16 years he has been with the Wicketthorn Farms in London Ontario and has definitely become a "member of the family' there on the farm. He was a jovial, easy going fellow, well liked by his friends and workmates. Carl liked to be outdoors and always enjoyed taking a ride in the country to enjoy the fall colours. More than anything though, Carl loved his family. He loved to tease them and had a great sense of humour. He was known as the “popular” uncle. He always found a way to make it home for his nieces and nephews graduations and any special visits back home included shopping trips with them, buying whatever they wanted. His tradition, The first night after he arrived for his visits, was to share Sussex Golden Ginger Ale and order pizza from here in Sussex with his family. Carl is survived by his sisters: Karen Gregg of Mt. Pisgah and Joan Cogger and her husband John of Roachville; his half-brother Andrew McDonald of Mt. Pisgah; his sister-in-law Janet Gregg of Mt. Pisgah; his nephews Thomas and Michael and his nieces Katherine, Jacklyn, Ashlee, Stacy and Jenna. Mr. Carl Leonard Gregg passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at the age of 58 in London Ontario. Along with his parents, Carl was predeceased by his brother William. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunny Side Drive, Sussex (433-1176) where visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 1-3 and 6-8 pm. A service celebrating Mr. Gregg’s life will be held from the Wallace Community Chapel at 2 pm on Wednesday March 1 followed by a reception at the funeral home.
