Obituary of Marion Elizabeth MacAfee

Marion Elizabeth MacAfee was born in Mount Middleton on January 12, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Mabel (Patterson) Sharp. Service to Country is strong in Marion’s family, she was a veteran of the Second World War having served in the Canadian Women's Army Corps . She was married to a military man and in later years, her son would make a career for himself in the Canadian Armed Forces and currently her grandson is an active member. She was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20.  Marion and Douglas lived in various places around Canada and the world beginning in 1946 due to Douglas' military career; the most memorable being France and Germany. She was happy to come home in 1970. Marion loved the outdoors, walking, cross country skiing , bowling and was an avid square dancer. She had a great passion for her community; being active in the Womens Institute, the United Church Women and Wesley United Church where she had served for a  time as treasurer and as a member of the church choir. She volunteered her time at the Gift Shop at the Hospital and at the Tourist Bureau at Four Corners.  Marion was the kind of woman who loved with all she had and gave of herself constantly.
