He was born at Ross on Wye, Herefordshire, England in 1921, a son of the late Harry and Ethel (Daniels) Drury. He was the youngest member of his family, which immigrated to Canada in 1930 from England. After Wilfred served overseas in England and Holland during World War II, he and his brothers Leslie and Selwyn founded Drury's Transfer in Petitcodiac, NB. Wilfred took pleasure in the company of his family and enjoyed playing a fine game of cards and spending time with his good friends at the hunting camp in Springhill, NB, very near the homestead where he grew up. Wilfred is survived by his wife Margaret and his daughter Bonney Holt, both of Sussex; his sons: Donald and his wife Carole of Fredericton and John and Cheryl Sweeney of Millbrook; his grandchildren: Ellen Drury, Wilf Drury and his wife Tina, Beth Drury, Joelle Toomey and her husband Kéighan, Alysen Drury and Tim Small, Amanda Drury, Angela McKenna and her husband Brent and Sarah Holt; his great grandchildren: Andrea, Michael, Rikki, Rian, Jordan, MacKenzie, Jonathan, Dawson, Jackson and Rayah; his great great granddaughter, Avah-Lynn; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to his parents, Wilfred was predeceased by his first wife, Nora (Hunt) Drury; his son, David; and his brothers: Leslie, Selwyn and Noel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8pm . A service celebrating Wilfred's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 1:00 pm followed by a time of fellowship with the family following the service.
