Obituary of Marguerite (Peggy) Keirstead

Mrs. Marguerite (Peggy) Keirstead was born in Penobsquis on August 11, 1917; she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Enwright and the wife of the late Edmund Hartley Keirstead who passed away in 1997. Marguerite was such a loving and caring person. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Cooking and spending time with her family were so important to her. A passion for varied interests; knitting, doing crossword puzzles, playing bingo, going out to a musical event or playing a good game of cards, she loved them all. We can't forget her favorite television games shows and television news broadcasts either, they weren't to be missed. Marguerite will live on in the hearts of her three daughters: Betty McKnight of Sussex, Eileen McDougall (Gary) of Ontario and Lois Stilwell (Neil) of Petitcodiac; her son, Gerald Keirstead (Anna) of Gibbon Mountain; her brother-in-law, Arnold Rodgers of Saint John; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Marguerite was predeceased by her sons: Ronald and Thomas in infancy; her brother Thomas Enwright and by her sisters: Mabel Doucette and Mary Rodgers. Mrs. Marguerite (Peggy) Keirstead of Sussex, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on April 9, 2017 at the age of 99. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Tuesday April 11th, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A service celebrating Marguerite’s life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm followed by a time of fellowship with the family.
