Obituary of Robert William Steeves

Robert ( Bob) William Steeves was born in Saint John on October 06, 1947, he was the son of the late Earl and Winnifred (Pye) Steeves.

Bob was a wonderful family man in the truest sense of the word. He met the love of his life Mary at Saint Thomas University, they were married shortly thereafter and had 42 spectacular years together.

Bob was a retired Department of transportation programmer analyst. He enjoyed tinkering with computers, always researching and buying the latest gadgets and became the first call for many when their computer's crashed. He enjoyed playing pool and looked forward to seeing the regular Thursday night gang for over 20 years.

He really enjoyed traveling. He and Mary started out with short trips and cruises and were soon spending their entire winters in Florida. They would pack up the car in late December and drive to Florida, taking in as many of the sights on the way as they could. He looked forward to hosting his grandchildren once they were settled, excitedly planning day trips they would love to theme parks.

He was an avid wine and beer maker and enjoyed sharing it with anyone who would drink it. He began by making wine for his children's weddings and soon their friends weddings.

Bob is survived by his wife Mary (Creamer), two sons: Brian Steeves and his wife Megan deGraaf of Anagance and Michael Steeves and his wife Jennifer of Russell Ontario, two daughters Erin Nelson and her husband Brent of Smiths Creek and Christine McLeod of Sussex, 10 grandchildren, two brothers: Wayne Steeves and his wife Sharon of Saint John, and Daryl Steeves and his wife Ellen of Quispamsis, one sister Debbie Burley and her husband Ed of Saint John, also a sister in law Carol Steeves.

He will be lovingly remembered by his 10 grandchildren Kaylee, Emily, Samuel, Sarah, Ava, Michael, Gage, Lilah, Charlotte and Ruby. They were the light of his life and they will miss him terribly.
