Obituary of Ensley Arthur Goddard

Mr. Ensley Arthur Goddard was born in Penobsquis on March 6, 1940, he was the son of the late Russel and Rhoda Goddard (Munro) and the husband of the late Gwendolyn (Ferris) Goddard who passed away in 2010.

A devoted husband of 45 years and father to 7 kids, his love for his family was fierce. His outlook on life was as jovial as the jokes he loved to tell.

Ensley will live on in the hearts of his sons: Rick Goddard and his wife Diane of Guelph, ON, Tony Goddard and his wife Annette of Borden, ON,  Larry Goddard and his wife Patsy of Havelock and Chris Goddard and his wife Rosemary of Fredericton; his daughters: Cindy Jeans and her husband Brian of Shelburne, ON and Monique McPhee and her husband Kirk of Sussex Corner; his stepson, Steve Goddard of Vancouver, BC, ; his brother, Travis Goddard and his wife Donna of Sussex; his sisters:  Fay Leslie and her husband Jim and Darlene Hector and her husband Ivan;  13 grandchildren: Selena, Olivia, Jade, Brea, Hunter, Crystal, Daniel, Ryan, Tamara, Rick, Derek, Darin and David; 14  great grandchildren: Alexandra, Kylym, Brooklyn, Destiny, Derek Jr., Samantha, Riley, Olivia, Roshawn, Tyson, Rylan, Carter. Jordan and Jasmin; as well as several extended family members.

Dad joined the military in 1953 as a member of the Royal Canadian Dragoon's and spent the majority of his career at CFB Gagetown. He changed to the steward trade after his surgery was completed on his ear and moved his family to Halifax where he retired with 22 years of service. He worked for Hudson Bay Company for another 18 years. During that time he moved his family first to Moncton and then to Penobsquis. Dad's work ethic was unparalleled, building 2 homes, helping his in-laws or anyone who would ask with carpentry or car repairs, he was a "Mr. Fix-it". No matter the task at hand he was cracking jokes and enjoying life.

 He will be missed.....
