My sincere condolences to all of the family. I have lots of fond memories of my Dad, John Rogers, working with Lawrence when I was young....back in the day when the liquor store was in the building with Hotel Sussex. What a great group of guys - I'm sure they're all laughing and joking in heaven.

Condolences and regards to Beth and the family. We have so many wonderful memories of Lawrence. There were the many years at Pleasant Lake where the fishing was occasionally good but the camaraderie was always great. We certainly remember our many lake gatherings when Lawrence broke out the clarinet and fiddle, and it was hard to keep your feet quiet. Bessie remembers the many years playing clarinet with Lawrence in the community band. And I remember 25 years of playing bridge with Lawrence in our Monday Night Bridge Club - he was a strong opponent but always a gracious player. We feel fortunate to have known Lawrence as a good man and a great friend for many years.

I'm very sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. McFarlane. Although I didn't know him very well, he seemed like a very kind and caring man. By chance and through similar circumstances, Mr. McFarlane met my father-in-law (who was very ill at the time, and has since passed away this year). Every time I saw Mr. McFarlane, he and his wife would both ask me how my father-in-law was. I appreciated that very much. My thoughts and prayers are with the McFarlane family.

Noticed the obituary in the Telegraph this morning.Sorry to here of his psssing.I only met Laurence and the family once,but being a close friend of Gerald for many years I seem to hear about his family and their adventures almost daily.Gerry and I talked almost every evening in the winter and our conversations ranged far and wide.As we lived across the lane in Grande Digue all summer we had many talks on our extended famlies and what they all were doing.It was a great loss for us when he Gerry passed on.We don't normally get the Telegraph but as fate would have it I went to mcdonalds for breakfast this am picked up the notice.Hoping you will get thru is sad time and wish you folks well in the future.

This statement from Lawrence's obituary so sums up how I have felt about him., "Our lives are better for having known him."
I met Lawrence when I took up curling 15 years ago and had it not been for his kindness and patience I would not have stuck with the game. He made it fun with his happy disposition and cheerful smile. Treat of the day was to be on his team. When he wasn't
there he was missed.
I am so vey happy to have known him. My sincere sympathy to all family members.

!949-50 Sussex Junior Rangers who brought the first provincial championship to Sussex since 1938. Lawrence and his good friend Art Goold were a vital part of this club who went on to maritime glory as well.
