Obituary of G. Fletcher Evans
Mr. George Fletcher Evans was born in Sussex, NB on July 8, 1952; he was the son of the late James Otto and Essie Marie (Fletcher) Evans.
At the age of 15, Fletcher would travel to Montreal to live, where he would spend his spare time playing hockey; Missing his family terribly at the age of 18, he would come back to be closer to them.
Fletcher was a caring, kind and loving man and family was very important to him; from quality time with the whole family, to taking the kids fishing or helping coach their ball team. He rarely missed one of Ethan's hockey games.
He was a hard working provider who took great pride in his work; whether it was his time at Bishop's Mill in Canaan or his tree thinning days for Noble Wiggins, the government and even Irving.
He loved to fish and hunt and especially enjoyed his moose hunting trips with Patricia, Ray and Brent. He also took part in several arm wrestling tournaments around New Brunswick.
Fletcher was a hard working, family man who loved life and lived his moments to the fullest. He will be deeply missed.
He will live on in the hearts of his beloved wife of 46 years, Linda (McPhee); his daughters: Trudy Boyd and her husband Arnold of Cambridge Narrows and Roxanne Scott and her husband James of Riverview; his brother, Bev and his wife Teresa of Salisbury and his twin brother, Fraser and his wife Irene of Coles Island; his sisters: Norma Perry and her husband Ernest of Canaan, Patricia McIntyre and her husband Raymond of Canaan, Marjorie Campbell and Jesse Wade of Coles Island, Charlene Perry and her husband Roy of Havelock and Gloria Ryder and her husband Cecil of Canaan; his brother-in-law, Delbert Beach of Coles Island; his grandchildren: Brooke, MacKenzie, Jamie and Ethan; as well as several extended family members and friends.
