Obituary of Rev. Clinton Nelson Mercer

Rev. Clinton Nelson Mercer was born in Bloomfield Ridge on July 6, 1943; He was the son of the late Thomas Lawson Mercer and Hazel Eva (Forsyth) Mercer.

Clinton will live on in the hearts of his beloved wife, Barbara (Rathburn); their daughters: Kimberley Ackerson (Robert) of Saint John, Charlotte MacLean of Saint John and Kathleen Mercer of Fredericton; their sons: Timothy Mercer (Angela) of Blackville and Matthew Mercer (Nicole) of Moncton; his sisters: Eileen Nichols and her husband Doug, Nettia Jones and her husband Lloyd, Lois McCrea and her husband Gary, Lauretta Jennings and her husband Charles, Eva Guimond and her husband Anthony and Audrey St. Amande and her husband Bill; his brothers: Donald Mercer and his wife Janet and Barry Mercer; his grandchildren: Ann Forgrave (Travis MacFarlane), Peter Forgrave (Meghan), Morgan MacLean, Nigel MacLean, Brooklynn Mercer (Stephen Phillips), Jacob Mercer and Joshua Mercer; his great grandchildren: Alivia Forgrave, Ryleigh Forgrave and Logan Michael David MacLean; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Rev. Clinton Nelson Mercer of Upperton, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by his family on August 20, 2017 at the age of 74

He is predeceased by his brothers: John, Henry, Everett and Aubrey and by his sisters: Isabell and Clara.   

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). Visitation will be held from Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church (489 Main St, Sussex, NB) on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 1-3 and 6-8pm and Wednesday from 11-1pm.

A service celebrating Clinton's life will be held from Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church (489 Main St, Sussex, NB) on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 2:00pm. 

If you are considering making a memorial donation the family has recommended the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation .
