Obituary of Shirley Elizabeth Gray

Mrs. Shirley Gray was born in Harcourt, she was the daughter of the late Robert Edward and Laura Mae (Cail)Young.

There was nothing that Shirley loved more then her Family. Having her kids and grandkids come visit would make her day.

Shirley was one of the hardest working women around- she could make any house a home. Any job, big or small, she would take pride in doing.

Shirley loved to bake and made sure that everyone always had treats to take home. Her bread, biscuits, jelly cookies, patty pans, and pickled eggs never lasted long. You never had to go far to find a hot, fresh cup of tea.

Shirley was one of the kindest, Generous people around. Whatever you needed- she would give you, and insisted on it. She loved helping others and making people happy. She spoiled her loved ones tremendously.  Shirley’s dog was treated like her child, being spoiled daily with toys and treats. Everyone looked forward to receiving cards at special occasions from her, she didn’t know it, but the way she put her love into each one was the best gift of all. Each and every one of us cherish those keepsakes close to our hearts.

Shirley enjoyed competing in woodsmen competitions, playing darts, throwing horseshoes, hunting, or even just having a fun night in with her family.

Most of all, she loved spending time with her soul mate, her best friend, and husband. Alvin and Shirley had a love like no other. They were inseparable, a match made in heaven. They enjoyed their nightly drives with Missy, Sunday trips for fish and chips, and most of all- spending time with loved ones, Anything at all, as long as they were together.

She will live on in the hearts of her beloved husband, Alvin; her children: Lori Goddard (Terry) of Penobquis, John Gray (Lina) of Sussex, Troy Gray (Heather) of Sussex, Harvey Johnston (Carolyn) of Hampton and Rob Morrison of Alberta, her 9 Grandchildren : Tanya Demont (Shane), Dereck Goddard (Sarah), Johnathan Gray, Stacey Gray, Katelyn Gray (Ryan) Kyle Gray (Skylar), Kayla Gray (Mitchel) Marco Gauvin and Caroline Gauvin and 7 great grandchildren; Chloe, Amber, Jade, Cooper, Liam, Jacob and Cameron.  Also her brothers: Dale Young of Fredericton and Ted Young of Plaster Rock; her sister: Nancy Wood of Fredericton; her sister-in-law, Sandra Young of Penobsquis; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Mrs. Shirley Elizabeth Gray of Hammondvale, passed away on September 07, 2017 at the age of 76.

She is predeceased by her sons, Dean Gray and Raygene Johnston; her bothers: Fred Young, Henry Young, Harry Young, Garnett Hayward and her sister Colleen.
