Obituary of Una B. Berry


It is with great sadness that the family of Una B. Berry announce her passing on Tuesday, October, 10, 2017 at the Scenic View Nursing Home in Apohaqui. Born in Ballynacally, Ireland on January 25, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Ellen (Fogarty) McMahon and the beloved wife of Walter Berry, who passed away in 1993.
 
She is survived by her loving daughters Patricia O’Dell (Donnie) of Hampton and Martha Drummond (David) of Upperton; grandchildren Danny (Shelley) O’Dell of French Village, Dawn Lynn O’Dell of Rothesay, Jason (Emma) Drummond of Upperton and Jeff (Tammy) Drummond of Norton; Great granddaughters Emily, Allison, Leah, Kate and Carly and several extended family members and friends.
 
In addition to her parents and husband, Una was predeceased her brother Alec and sister Peggy (Joe) Moran.
 
Una was a retired Nurse from the Kings County Memorial Hospital, having trained and worked in England during the Second World War.  She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church as well as, the CWL and a member of the Overseas War Brides Association.
 
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held Thursday from 3-6 pm.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Francis Xavier Church on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11 am. Interment in the Roachville Cemetery.  Following the committal, there will be a time of fellowship and refreshment held in the Church Hall.
