Obituary of Marion Elizabeth Stackhouse

Mrs. Marion Elizabeth Stackhouse was born on September 3, 1923 in Sackville, she was the daughter of the late William and Zora (Alward) Hanington and wife of the late James Stackhouse.

Marion went to school in Moncton. Enlisted in the military and joined the membership of Canadian Women Army Corps. She was actively working in Amherst in AVRO air craft plant, also working in the signals dept in Ottawa.

After WWII she studied business at Oulton's Business College and work at Eaton's where she met Jim during the Christmas Holiday Season.

She was a life member of the Women's Missionary Society and the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20.

She will live on in the hearts of her daughters: Dr. Dianne Stackhouse and her husband Gerry Caissie of Cambridge Narrows, June Palmer of Long Creek, Faye McCormack and her husband Duncan of Cambridge Narrows and Ida Stackhouse of Kingsclear; her sons:  J. Roy Stackhouse and his wife Viola of Moncton and J. Lee Stackhouse and his wife Margaret of Tennessee, USA; her nephew, Wesley Fenwick of Kierstead Mountain;  9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Marion Elizabeth Stackhouse of Long Creek, passed away at home on October 18, 2017 at the age of 94.

Besides her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband James who passed away in 2012 and by her brother, Gerald.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20 will hold a tribute Friday Evening at 5:45.

A service celebrating Marion's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:00 am.  The interment will take place in Coles Island Cemetery.
