Obituary of William Floyd

Mr. William (Bill) Earl Floyd was born in Salt Springs NB on June 11, 1949, he was a son of  Dorothy (Dot) (Kirkpatrick) Floyd and the late Earl David Floyd.

Bill's health issues began at age 4 when he required brain surgery and radiation treatments for cancer. He beat the odds and lived for another 64 years through multiple skin, lung and brain tumors, as well as other maladies. And although that describes his health, it certainly doesn't describe Bill.

Bill never complained about his health and certainly never thought of himself as sick or disabled; focusing instead on what there was to be thankful for. He worked many jobs with an amazing work ethic, from truck driver to water observer, and eventually started his own sanitation company before a brain surgery in 1995 left him unable to continue working in a professional capacity.

Bill loved spending time with his family, both immediate and extended, playing his guitar, listening to country music, being at the camp, going for coffee/tea with friends, hunting and, mostly, being able to help friends and family in any way possible without ever wanting any help in return.

In addition to his mother, Bill is survived by his daughters; Karla Thompson (Matthew) of Saint John and Nancy Floyd of Halifax, his sons; Tony Floyd and Eric Floyd of Sussex, a brother; Philip Floyd(Debby) of PEI, his sisters; Lucy Johnson (Richard) of Saint John, Karen MacDonald (Rick) of Fredericton and Pamela Kennedy (Peter) of Fredericton, 8 grandchildren; Jaimee, Justin, Keira, Jaxon, Malachi, Noah, Elias and Negan, 5 great grandchildren; Nikki, Niya, Shayla, Blake and Jaxon also a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. William (Bill) Earl Floyd of Sussex, passed away on November 24, 2017 at the age of 68.

Bill was predeceased by a brother Raymond and a sister Sharon.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Tuesday November 28th from 3-7 pm. 

A service celebrating Mr. Floyd's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 11:00 am.
