Jack Gerard McKay was born in Saint John, on September 21, 1935, he was the son of the late Roy Frederick and Bessie (Ewing) and was the husband of the late Gloria (Byhre) MaKay who passed away in 2001. Jack loved his dogs, playing darts, bowling, fishing and crib. He was a former bread truck driver for Cairns Bakery and retired from NBLCC after 31 years of service. He is survived his daughter, Jacqueline McKerell and her husband Stuart of Calgary, two sons: Roy and his wife Janet of Cassidy Lake, Paul and his wife Lucie of Miramichi, his step-daughter, Tammy Daigle and her husband Ken of Campbell River, his step-son David Trites and his wife Julie; ten grandchildren: Angela and Carl Jones of Poodiac, Amy Hall and her husband Kevin of Penobsquis, Amber Devine and her husband Neal of Hillsdale, Erica Blanchard and her husband Chris of Blacks Harbour, Kara McKay, Cody McKay, Amanda McKay, Samantha McKay, Mario Richard and Tabatha O'Neill all of Sussex; eleven great grandchildren, Brittany, Brienna, Rebecca , Dustin and Ashley, Maria, Alexander, Alaina, Logan, Darius and Lexus; six step-grandchildren; Kyle, Ashley, Alysha, Devon, Gabriel and Connor; his sister in law, Colleen McKay of Garnett Settlement, his special friend Norma Wetmore, his brother-in-law Joe Benjamin and his wife Heather of Cassidy Lake, Nathan Benjamin and his wife Wanda of Saint John, Chesley Benjamin and his wife Carol of Garnet Settlement, Don Johnson and his wife Rose of Sussex, as well as several nieces and nephews; Jack is predeceased by his daughter, Cindy Anne Adair in 1999, his first wife Gloria (Byhre) McKay who passed away in 2001, Gerene Trites who passed away in 2009, his grandson Blaine Flynn, three brothers: Ronald, Joseph and Bill, his sister, Peggy Cook and by his niece Jacqueline Dunham; Mr. Jack Gerard McKay of Poodiac passed away on January 18th 2011, at home at the age of 75.
