Obituary of Joyce Evangeline Smith
Mrs. Joyce Evangeline Smith of Newtown was born in Plaster Rock on November 20, 1936, she was the daughter of the late James Patrick and Amy Tracy (Houston) Voutour.
Joyce was a very loving and caring person. She’d be the first person to help someone in need. She loved being around her many grandchildren. She was an avid hunter, who loved fishing and knitting socks and mittens. She took up doing plastic canvassing making many things for others to put on their loved one graves. She will be missed by many here in Sussex.
She will live on in the hearts of her loving husband, Ivan Smith; four daughters: Jeannette Hansey (Ron) of Stirling, Ontario, Roseann Harper (Paul) of Anagance, Eva Smith of Midland and Bonnysue Smith (Tony) of Camrose, Alberta; two sons: Ivan Smith of Newtown and Richard Smith (Pam) of Newtown; 13 grandchildren: Clifford, Sabrina, Douglas, Sharon, Bobby, Billy, Gregory, Sarah, Stephanie, Ashley, Paul, Jimmy and James; 7 great grandchildren: Cody, Thomas, Sierra, Zachary, Abigail, Logan and Adley; his great great grandson, Tyson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Joyce Evangeline Smith of Newtown, passed away at the Sussex Health Center on December 25, 2017 at the age of 81.
Joyce was predeceased by her sisters: Rachel Dubee and Mary Anne Warren; her brothers: Harry Voutour, Raymond Hall and Danny Voutour and by four grandchildren: John, Bruce, Mary and Patty.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28th from 6-8:00 pm.
A service celebrating Joyce’s life will be held from the Sussex Community Church (Salvation Army) on Friday, December 29th at 3:00 pm.
