Obituary of Paul Winlock Northrup
Mr. Paul Winlock Northrup was born in
Paul was the epitome of a hard working man. He would never be found sitting still and was a jack of all trades. There was no job he wouldn't try. He spent years working in the woods, as a longshoreman at the Saint John Dry Docks, Canada Packers, Irving Sawmill, Poley Mountain, Dairytown and hands down the pride of his working career, Sussex Golf and Curling Club.
He loved to be outside, whether it was on the green or hunting and fishing. He had a passion for sports and was an active member of a bowling league and in his younger years was an amazing whip pitcher. His favorite place to be was on the golf course. The last day on the course before it went from 9 holes to 18, Paul was the last to finish and had the highest score. He was very proud of the fact that with the number of holes changing no one would ever be able to compete against his spot.
Paul married the love of his life on January 25, 1964 and they continued their love story through their children and grandchildren. He loved his family and wanted to make sure they were always well cared for.
He will live on in the hearts of his loving wife of 54 years, Dolores (Middleton) Northrup; his children: Evans Northrup and his wife Ann of Penobsquis, Paula Northrup Humphrey and her husband Steven of Bloomfield and Jo-Anne Cudmore of Sussex Corner; his stepmother, Vera Northrup ; his siblings: Tammy Nash-Northrup of Barnesville, Don Rodgirs of Alberta, Heath Rodgirs of Alberta and Tim Northrup of Barnesville; nine grandchildren: Jerrit Northrup and his wife Lyndsey, Branden Humphrey and Dyllan Taylor, Nicole Humphrey, Corey Northrup, Lance Cudmore, Ariel Cudmore, Marshall Hayes, Marybeth Hayes and Maggie Northrup; as well as several nieces and nephews.
