Obituary of George Viger

 

Mr. George Augustine Viger was born in Coles Island on October 21, 1926. He was the son of the late Joseph and Annabelle (Maskell) Viger.

 

George lived his full life in Coles Island: building his home, his barn, and his cabin in the woods; clearing land; cutting pulp; working in sawmills; driving a dump truck; raising cattle; building furniture and fixing things for his children; helping his neighbours; riding his tractors and loving his wife and family.

 

George was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. He will be missed by all.

 

George will live on in the hearts of his loving wife,  Elsie (Sleep) Viger; his children: Bobby of Hammond River,  Betty Ann Viger of Summerside,  Donna Viger of Ottawa and Randy of California, his brother, Freddy of Coles Island; his sisters: Anne Marie Teskey of Ottawa, Shirley Holtz of Napanee and Mary Jo LeClair of Coles Island; his grandchildren: Kimberley, Robert, Sheila, Suzanne, Daniel and Melanie; his great grandchildren: Kyra and Meleah; as well as several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

 

Mr. George Augustine Viger of Coles Island, passed away at the Mill Cove Nursing Home on February 3, 2018 at the age of 91.

 

Along with his parents, George was predeceased by his brothers; Gerard, Stanley, Charlie and Alfie and by his sisters: Florence, Adeline and Norma. 

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 2 - 5pm.   

A Mass of Christian Burial in honor of George's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 3:00pm.
