Mr. Donald James "Jim" Allen was born in
Jim was a selfless man, always giving of himself and never asking in return. He served in the Merchant Navy with Imperial Oil Tankers, he also served with the Canadian Army (NATO). After leaving the military, he dedicated his service to the Police as an investigator for the CPR for 33 years.
He was always very active in his community, proving once again that he would do anything to help others and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was a member and past Grand Master of Ashler Lodge # 36 F&AM and a member, Past President and Secretary of the Sussex Shrine Club and the past Secretary of the Sussex Shrine Unit.
Jim had a big heart, a genuine smile and you never had to wonder what he was thinking. He gave with everything he had and loved his family with all of his might. He will be dearly missed by all of the lives he has touched.
Jim will live on in the hearts of his loving wife, Shirley (Willett); his daughters: Patricia Smith and her husband William of Dartmouth and Debbie Allen and her partner Cindy Mitton of Quispamsis; his grandchildren: Jordan, Lyndsey, Alicia and Candace; his great granddaughter, Ava; his brother, Brian Allen and his wife Maeve of Idaho, USA; his sister, Joyce Miserany of Platsburg, New York, USA; as well as his nieces and nephews.
