Obituary of Marjory V. Allaby

With sadness and celebration of a life well lived, the family of Marjory Valance Allaby, age 103, of Sussex, NB, announces her death which occurred on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex, NB.  She was born in Saint John, NB, on May 2, 1914, wife of the late James L. "Jim" Allaby, after 67 years of marriage and the youngest daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Hunt) Gray.

Marjory was a faithful church worker and a Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years. She had helped her husband in the operation of Allaby's Meat and Grocery.  Marjorie enjoyed her flower gardens and delighted in travelling.

Marjory is survived by her daughter Marilyn Davidson and her husband Ronald of Sussex, NB; sons: James Allaby and his wife Ruth of Saint John, NB, Robert Allaby and his wife Sandra of Saint John, NB; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.   Besides her parents and husband James, she was predeceased by her sister Christine McAlary, brothers Worden, Eldon and Stanley.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176).  Visitation will be held from Faith Bible Baptist Church, 33 Pine Street, Sussex on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 1-3pm with the Funeral Service beginning at 3pm.  Interment will be at Midland Cemetery in the spring.
