Obituary of Lena M. Walker

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lena Marie Walker, age 96, of Sussex, NB, announces her death which occurred on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex, NB.  She was born in Lundy, NS, on May 7, 1921, wife of the late Angus “Gus” Walker and a daughter of the late Frederick and Venie (Gerrior) DeYoung.

Lena is survived by her daughters Monica Francis and her husband Stewart of Halifax, NS, Brenda Walker of Sussex, NB, Pam Corby and her husband Bill of Fredericton, NB, Tracy Titus and her husband Don of Sussex, NB;  thirteen grandchildren: Lindsay, Tracy, Jennifer (Chris) Reeves, Jaclyn (Terry Cook), Kristina, Megan, Leah (Justin) Bowers, Katie, Michael, Maria, Andrew, Jill, Laura; nine great-grandchildren Jacob, Ava, Nataly, Jackson, Polly, Ben, Will, Ally, Hunter; sister Nina (Wayne) Martell and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband Gus, she was predeceased by her son Gilland Walker; sisters Alice, Mabel, Muriel, Ola and brothers Wilfred, Donnie, Gary and Joe.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), from where visitation will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm.  A celebration of Lena's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11:00am.
