Obituary of James Allen Mason

Mr. James "Jamie" Allen Mason was born on October 24, 1958 in Sussex, NB. He grew up in Watertown, Massachusetts where he served in the United States Army for 3 years before beginning his career laying hardwood floors.

In 1990, he returned to Sussex where he continued his love for carpentry until his health would no longer allow him to work.

In his younger years, Jamie loved hunting and fishing, any excuse to spend time at his dad's camp in Millstream.

Jamie was a people person who had a wonderful sense of humour and took great enjoyment in being a smart ass and teasing people. He was never malicious about it, but if you were ever going to be embarassed you most certainly would never live it down if you were around Jamie Mason.

He always loved a good party and loved to sing along to the guitar; even though he wasn't very good.

He was a past volunteer firefighter for the Penobsquis Fire Department and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20.

He will live on in the hearts of his mother, Leona Mason of Watertown; his daughters: Krystal MacNeill  and her husband Brandon of Pleasant Ridge and Allison Mason of Head of Millstream; his sons: JJ Mason and Mark Mason and his wife Christina; his brother, Michael Mason all of Massachusetts; his grandchildren: Benjamin MacNeill, Cameron Mason and Hunter Mason and his special friend, Leah LeBouthillier of Sussex Corner.

Mr. James Allen Mason of Apohaqui passed away at his residence on May 9, 2018 at 59.

He is predeceased by his father, James Warren Mason and by his English Bulldog, Duke.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex NB (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 4-8 pm.  A Celebration of Jamie's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 11:00am.
