Obituary of Doris Jane Payne

Mrs. Doris Jane Payne formerly of Hillsdale passed away peacefully and quietly at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on May 30, 2018. She was born in Poodiac on February 23, 1923, a daughter of the late Esley and Verna May (Baxter) Adair.

Doris is survived by her daughters: Shirley (Junior) and Valarie (Carl) all of Norton; her sons: Jim (Ethel) of Hillsdale and Edward of Winnipeg; her grandchildren: Carmen Meehan (Lloyd), Randy Payne (Cindy), Kim Smith (David), Heather Allaby (Troy), Jeff Payne (Jane), Megan Goddard, Justin Goddard (Mandy Bean), Jeremy Goddard, Krystal Payne (Andy Blum), Charlee Grant (Jamie), Matthew McLaughlin (Jenica); her son-in-law, Bob McLaughlin; her daughter-in-law,  Gloria Payne; her sister-in-law, Betty Adair; her sister, Daisy McKinney; 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband, John; her daughter, Judy McLaughlin; her son, Frank; her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Payne; her granddaughter-in-law, Faye Payne; her brothers: Otty, Hartley and Melbourne Adair; and her sisters: Ethel McGahey and Lois DeVine.

Arrangements are entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex NB (506-433-1176)   where visitation will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 1-3 and 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Francis Xavier RC Church on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 9:00am.

Interment will take place in Saddleback Cemetery on Monday.

For those who wish, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
