Obituary of Dorothy Hutchinson
Mrs. Dorothy Ann (Coyle) (Reed) Hutchinson was born in Saint John, NB on October 8, 1936; she was the daughter of the late Gerald "Didder" Coyle and Jean (Arbing) Coyle.
Dorothy was a life member and past President of the Royal Canada Legion Norton Branch # 76. She was a member of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Consumers Network, the Parish Council and a Chairman and Board of Directors of the Sussex and Area Activity Centre.
Dorothy managed the Met Restaurant for many years as well as bartending at the Norton Legion until 2007. She loved to bowl, play darts and be with people. She had a wonderful sense of humor and she will be missed by all who knew her.
She will live on in the hearts of her children: twins Cindy Lee MacFarland and her husband Frederick of Clifton Royal and Mark Reed and his wife Edna of Saint John and by her son, Jon Reed of Saint John; her step children: Todd, Tony and Brian Hutchinson, Christine Sooley and Kim Chown; her sisters: Geraldine Coyle of Toronto, Sister Theresa Coyle of Saint John, Sister Margaret Coyle of Quispamsis and Pauline Coyle of Saint John; her grandchildren, Wayne and his wife Emily, Heidi Black and her husband Michael, Nicheal and Selena; her step grandchildren: Chad, Davin, Howie, Maggen, Darrick, Jessica and Eric; her great grandchildren: Levi and Ruby MacFarland; her great step grandchildren: Emma and Owen; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy Ann Hutchinson of Sussex passed away in Montreal, QC on July 12, 2018 at the age of 81.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Howard Hutchinson; her brother, Patrick Coyle; her sisters: Jean, Audrey, Barbara, Marie and Shirley; as well as the father of her children, John Parker Reed and her second husband, Bill Delano.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex NB (506–433–1176), from where visitation will be held on Friday from 1-3 and 6-8pm.
The Royal Canadian Legion Norton Branch #76 will hold a tribute on Friday evening at 5:45pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norton on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 1:00pm. The interment will take place in Riverbank Cemetery, Riverbank, NB, followed by a time of fellowship with the family at the Norton Legion.
