Obituary of Myles V. Chown

With broken hearts and profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Myles Vernon Chown of Sussex Corner, who died peacefully at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, NB, on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the age of 63.

Myles was born in Saint John, NB on December 26, 1954, a son of Florence (Kierstead) Chown and the late Myles E. Chown.

Myles owned Chown Equipment Ltd. alongside his wife Sandra and son Myles B. for the past 20 years. Myles could either be found at the shop working or at home enjoying his garden. When he wasn’t working, Myles enjoyed traveling with Sandra, especially going to Newfoundland.

Myles loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports, he never missed a game. With a little coaching from him on the sidelines, he always encouraged them to try their best and enjoy the game. Myles also enjoyed watching Nascar Racing, his motto being never bother him on Nascar Day.

Myles was so proud of his family, always doing anything and everything for them. He always looked forward to family gatherings and celebrations. Myles will live on in the hearts of his family and will be deeply missed by all.

Myles is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sandra (Smith) Chown; son Myles B. Chown and his wife Shelley of Sussex, NB; daughter Brittany Reicker and her husband Jon of Kiersteadville, NB; his mother, Florence Chown of Sussex; grandchildren Myles P., Bridget; brother Eugene (Judy) Chown of Ottawa, ON; mother-in-law Lillian Smith of Riverview, NB; sisters-in-law Joanne Smith (Jacques LeBlanc) of Riverview, NB, Jennifer (Len) Drover of Riverview, NB; as well as several nieces and nephews.
