Obituary of David E. Chute

It is with sadness that the family of David Earl Chute, age 53, of Mount Hebron, NB, announces his death which occurred on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Bobby’s Hospice, Saint John.  He was born on September 26, 1965 in Woodstock, NB a son of the late Gerald and Laura (Hill) Chute.

He will live on in the hearts of his step-children Melissa (Justin) McKnight of Norton, Troy (Jessica) Snyder of Alberta; daughter Chastity Hill (Rocco) of Fredericton; son David Lee Chute (Lacey) of Penobsquis; grandchildren Samantha, Autumn, Lilly, Zoe, Abby, Damien, Dominic, Hailey, Destiny; brothers Roland of Millville, Danny (Diane) of Fredericton and sister Valerie Hopkins (Wayne) of Ontario; as well as several nieces and nephews.  He will also be sadly missed by his family on the Moeller Horse Ranch; Andre (Susan) Moeller and Astrid Moeller, who was like a mother to him.

He enjoyed his time with his granddaughter Samantha “his angel”. From having tea parties to teaching her about the horses. She will always hold a special place in his heart.

Dave was a trusted and valuable employee of Charlotte Ranch for 12 years.  Working with the horses was much more than a job to him - he was there day or night, for whatever needed to be done.  He had barn names for all the foals and they always reflected his sense of humour, like “Pinhorn” and “Facecloth”.  Dave had no fear when he was breaking the young horses, was never scared of hard work and always gave more than he was asked.  He made sure that Oma always had her firewood and if anything from the barn to the house needed fixing, he could often get the job done - with a grin and a funny saying thrown in.  He will always be missed at Charlotte Ranch.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex NB (506-433-1176) and will be held privately.
