Obituary of Clifford Clark Kitchen

 

Clifford Clark Kitchen was born on October 22, 1940 in Woodstock, NB, he was the son of the late Elwood and Marcia (Clark) Kitchen. 

 

Clifford enjoyed family, friends, and volunteering in every community he and Gert lived in. In Woodstock, NB he served many years with the Elks Club. In Truro, NS he began his almost 30 years of involvement as a volunteer firefighter. In Sussex, Clifford was honoured as the Volunteer of the Year in acknowledgement of his contributions to Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army Kettle Campaign, the Legion (bingos, banquets, pool league, Poppy Fund) and the Volunteer Income Tax program.

 

When he wasn’t working or volunteering, Clifford enjoyed darts, golf, curling, pool, and shuffleboard. Along with his devoted wife, Gertrude, he made many trips to Western Canada to visit with and celebrate special events in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

 

He was a faithful employee of Shur-Gain Feed for 41 years before entering the retirement phase of his life.

 

 He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gertrude; his daughter, Beth Dubrule and her husband Clem of Edmonton; his sons: Stephen Kitchen and his wife June of Saskatoon and Tim Kitchen and his wife Rachel of Calgary; his grandchildren: Carolyn Giroux and her husband Leo, Karra Krywko and her husband Matt, Stephanie Christensen and her husband Nick, Brandon Dubrule, Mikayla Kitchen, Jordan Kitchen, Benjamin Kitchen and Ella Kitchen;

his great grandchildren: Brooke, Callie, Morgan and Emmett; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

Clifford Clark Kitchen of Roachville passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on January 6, 2019 at the age of 78.

 

He was predeceased by his parents, Marcia (1985) and Elwood (1988) Kitchen and his brothers: Ron, Willard, Bobby, and Wayne as well as his sister, Marlene.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). Visitation will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 12-2pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20 will hold a tribute at 2:00pm.

 

The Celebration of Clifford's life will be immediately following the legion tribute.
