Obituary of Wayne Harold Colpitts

 

Wayne Colpitts was born in Colpitts Settlement, NB, on August 11th, 1940. He was the son of the late Lloyd and Bessie (Alward) Colpitts.

Wayne spent most of his working career with The Coca Cola Company where he became a collector of Coke memorabilia and participated in many company committees and events. In his off hours he enjoyed coaching and umpiring ball, bowling and watching hockey. After his retirement he owned a used furniture store in Sussex, NB.  He participated in community organizations, played music and sang at every opportunity, and indulged his lifelong love of hunting and fishing.

Wayne will be greatly missed by his daughter, Beth Colpitts (Robert) of Salisbury, NB; his son, Troy Colpitts of Moncton; along with his stepmother, Irene Colpitts; his sister, Muriel Carpenter (James); his step sister, Shirley Quinlan; eight grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; as well as a large and loving extended family.

Wayne Harold Colpitts of Moncton passed away at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home on January 9, 2019 at the age of 78.

Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his son, Darren; his brother, Cedric and his step sister, Jean.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). Visitation will be held from the Penobsquis Baptist Church (27 Church Loop Rd) on Friday January 11th, 2019 from 6-8pm.  The Celebration of Wayne's life will be held from Penobsquis Baptist Church on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 3pm with Pastor Mark Worth and Pastor Wayne Johnson officiating.
