I had built a cottage up by the Pearson's- I would have to drive by Robert's place when I was doing the work.
Robert was such a great guy to deal with - always quick to lend a hand or a story about the area. He was a great neighbor to have. He wasn't afraid to get his hand dirty and was able to put us young guys to shame with his skills, experience and considerable strength. He was tough but kind, and made me feel very welcome in that neck of the woods.
I am sorry for the loss for his family and the community.

Craig - My sincere sympathies to you and your sister and extended family on the death of your father. Robert was a great help to Gary and me when we purchased our land from the church and he continued to be a great help to me after Gary's passing. He was truly a gentleman and was always willing to lend a hand if needed. I have two bundles of kindling that I got from him just before Christmas and every time I use it, I think of your dad. It's hard to believe that I won't see him again on the Deforest Rd. It won't be the same that's for sure. Sincerely, Audrey

We lost another great man to soon! Robert was a sweet, kind and caring man and always thought of others, with his great work with the cadet program and many other organizations. He was such a great man to my mom with the years they did have together, my mom was so happy when she was with him as you would see both of them just light up when together. Also sending my condolences to his daughter Nadine and son Greg, his sisters Heather, Carol and Cindy that I have known my whole life and brother Byron and all of Robert's nieces and nephews and grandchildren. I am honored to have got to know him and will be a big change to our life without him!
