Obituary of Verna Louise Perry

Mrs. Verna Louise Perry was born in Brookvale on May 31, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Leon and Eva (Wood) Verrill.

Verna enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a kind hearted woman, who was always there to help whether it was giving an attentive ear, advice, a kind word or making you a cat food sandwich. She loved to play darts and cards. In her earlier years, she liked to knit and quilt and was even a member of the Canaan Sewing Circle and the Havelock Royal Canadian Legion.

She had a strong love for her beloved Boston Bruins and a deeper hatred for mactac. She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend and will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.

She will live on in the hearts of her children: Daniel Paterson and his wife Jean, Bruce Paterson and his wife Lorie and Dianne Perry and her husband Jack; her stepson, Darren Perry and his wife Brenda; her grandchildren: Matthew Paterson and his wife Samantha, Megan Paterson and Brett Adams, Misty Galbraith and her husband James, Mattea Paterson and Tyler Paterson; her great grandchildren: Dominic and Duke; her furry companion, Jiggs; her special nieces: Karen, Sharon and Lynn; as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Verna Perry of Cherryvale passed away at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on February 25, 2019 at the age of 78.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Wallace Paterson; her second husband, Arthur Perry; her son, Darrell Paterson; her brother, Ernest Verrill and by her sisters: Fern Tozer and Della Verrill.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home (506-433-1176), 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB.  A Celebration of Verna's life will be held from Coles Island Baptist Church on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 2:00pm.
