Obituary of Bill Arbing

Bill was born in Millcove, PEI on October 15, 1936. He was the son of the late Herrell and Margaret (Ready) Arbing. In 1953, at the Courts Clover Farm in Bedford, Bill met the love of his life Eileen and on September 12, 1959 they were married. Bill had worked at International Harvester in Saint John as a traveling service representative, where he met Bob Hutton. They opened the doors of Arbing and Hutton Equipment on Cougle Road, Sussex Corner on June 1st, 1965 to the farming community. In 1971, Bob left for other opportunities and the business became known as Arbing Equipment and moved to its present site on Aiton Road, where Bill retired from in 2006. For more than 40 years Bill Arbing provided quality products to southern N.B. Bill spent most of his time working to build his business and looking after his family. In his very limited spare time he enjoyed reading and in later years he when he gave up the control of his company, he took control of the TV remote control. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier RC Church, Knights of Columbus, NB Crop and Soil Association and the NB Plowmans Association. Bill will live on in the hearts of Eileen, his beloved wife of 51 years, "his girls" Pam Arbing-Northrup and her husband Brian of Berwick, Estelle Arbing of Sussex and Darlene Balderston and her husband Erwin of Stratford, PEI; four brothers: Walter and his wife Gail of Donaldston, PEI, Philip and his wife Elizabeth of Marshfield, PEI, Leonard and his wife Joanne of Charlottetown, PEI and Tony and his wife Cindy of Donaldston, PEI; two sisters: Mary Ellsworth and her husband St. Clair of Oshawa, Ontario, and Jean Murphy and her husband Arnold of Alexandra, PEI and a sister-in-law Anna Arbing of Halifax, as well as several nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by three brothers: Aubrey, Daniel and David; Mr. Bill Charles Arbing of McLean Street, Sussex, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on November 03, 2010 at the age of 74.
