Obituary of Murray Hamilton Woods

Mr. Murray Hamilton Woods was born on April 17, 1929 in Welsford, Queens County, NB. He was the son of the late Harry and Gladys (Hamilton) Woods.

Murray graduated from Forest Ranger School in 1952, he served for 35 years with the Canadian Forestry Services.

He had a playful spirit, a contagious smile and teasing streak like no other; especially with his sister-in-law, Doris. He had a heart of gold and would give anyone the shirt off his back. Murray was very active in his church and his community.

Murray was a skilled woodworker who always had many projects on the go. His family was very lucky to each have some of his beautiful creations. He truly had a passion for the outdoors, he was an avid gardener and loved trees; he couldn’t bear to see them cut down.

He will live on in the hearts of his loving wife of 61 years, Roberta (Johnson) Woods; their son, Kevin Woods and his wife Kim of Apohaqui; his sisters: Maxine Cooper of Welsford, Dorothy McKinney of Sussex and Winona Quigg and her husband Art of London, ON; his grandchildren: Ashley Lambert and her husband Adam of Russell, ON and Erin Cameron and her husband Josh of Sussex; his great grandsons: William, Benjamin and John; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Mr. Murray Hamilton Woods of Sussex passed away at the Sussex Health Center on May 14, 2019 at the age of 90.

Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his children: Jodell and Andrew; his brother, Donald; his brothers-in-law, Ken Cooper and Machum McKinney; and by his sister-in-law, Amy Woods; as well as several extended family members.
