Obituary of Bud McKnight

It is with sadness and yet joy the family announces the passing of their loved one Gerald "Bud" Murray McKnight on Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Sussex Health Centre. He was born on May 31, 1932 in Apohaqui, NB; a son to the late Earl and Hazel (Crothers) McKnight.

Bud worked on the family farm until 1973 when Farmer's lung forced him to make a career change. He settled into driving school bus #5 and retired 23 years later. He so enjoyed telling stories from those days. Bud will be remembered for his love of family,  his green thumb for growing squash and his fun sense of humor.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty (McQuinn) McKnight of 65 years this month; his daughters: Debby Finnigan of Auckland, NZ and Kathy McKnight of Apohaqui; his sons: Terry McKnight (Donna) of Sussex and Gary McKnight of Toronto; his brothers: Arthur McKnight (Almeda), Gordon McKnight (Winnie) and Bill McKnight (Darlene); his grandchildren: Justin McKnight (Missy), Joshua McKnight (Randi), Lukas McKnight, Destiny Steeves (Brad) and John Finnigan (Reegan); his great-granddaughters: Samantha and Autumn McKnight; his sisters-in-law: Lois Hall and Kaye Finniss and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Bud was predeceased by his brothers: Milton and Malcolm McKnight and his sister, Marguerite MacEwen.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506-433-1176). A Celebration of Bud's life will be held at Wallace Community Chapel on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 11 am, followed by a time of fellowship. The interment will be held in Kirk Hill Cemetery.

For those who wish donations in memory of Bud may be made to the Sussex Extra Mural, Sussex Red Cross, Canadian Bible Society or charity of your choice.  Condolences to the family and donations may be made through WallaceFuneralHome.com
