Obituary of Grace Hetherington

The family of Margaret GRACE Hetherington announce the passing and transcending to her Heavenly home on Friday, July 5, 2019.

Grace was the only daughter of the late Frank and Alice (Perry) Hetherington, born in Mount Middleton near Sussex on September 19, 1921 where her family owned a farm from 1920 to 1926. In September of 1926, her family moved back to Cody’s where Grace finished growing up and her family tended to an active farm until the 1990’s. Grace was the last surviving member of her family and a special sister to brothers: Palmerston (Pally), John, Ralph, Gordon, Robert and Donnie.

Grace was the wife of the late Dr. Harold Gamblin Hetherington who passed away on October 28, 1998. Grace worked beside her husband in support of his medical career in Bayfield until his retirement in 1988 when they retired to Cody’s, NB. Grace was always involved in her church and community and their various organizations and was supportive and compassionate toward others whom she would meet along life’s journey.

Grace is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Hetherington and by her and her late husbands many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, Sussex. By Grace’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those who wish, donations may be made in her memory to the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex or to the charity of the donor’s choice, would be appreciated by her family.
