Obituary of Eileen Hawkes
After a life well lived, we announce the death of Dorothy “Eileen” Hawkes, which occurred at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 in her 99th year. Eileen was born in Jefferies Corner, NB on June 15, 1920, a daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (Little) Walker and wife of the late Ralph B. Hawkes.
Eileen was a very active woman who enjoyed living a simple life. She loved going for walks and working in her gardens. She spent a lot of time baking, knitting and crocheting.
She spent many years bowling on a team and managed to win many trophies during that time.
She was a member of the Brunswick Belles and also enjoyed singing in the church choir. Eileen took great comfort from reading her bible daily.
During their younger years, Eileen and Ralph spent many weekends at their camp on the Washademoak with their grandchildren. They enjoyed bonfires on the beach, swimming, boating and even ice skating in the winter. Eileen believed that staying active was the key to a long happy life.
She will be loved and missed by all her family and her many friends.
Eileen will be missed by her son, Ralph A. Hawkes of Sussex, NB; her grandchildren: Patty (Bill) Howe, Stephen Hawkes, Susan (John) Pearson, Kathy Mullin; her great grandchildren: Stefanie (Danny) Clain, Stacey Howe, Shana (Ryan) Kuehl, Tanner Pearson, Taylor Pearson, Jake (Jenna) Mullin, James Mullin, Joel (Miranda) Mullin; thirteen great-great grandchildren; her special family friend, Sherry Hawkes and her sons: Nick Lisson and Nathan Lisson; many nieces and nephews.
