Obituary of Joan Buchanan

Mrs. Joan Buchanan of Sussex passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on Thursday, September 19, 2019 with her family by her side at the age of 64. She was born in Sussex on September 10, 1955; a daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Carr) Patterson.  

She will live on in the hearts of her children: Amanda Buchanan of Plaster Rock, Vanessa Buchanan of Sussex, Mark Buchanan of Sussex and Brittany Holland and Bailey Garrett of Sussex; her daughter-in-law, Mallory Vautour of Riverview; her brother, George Patterson and his wife Holly of Florida; her sisters: Joanne Patterson and Dorothy Westerberg both of Sussex; her grandchildren: Evan, Kassidy, Stephanie, Sophia, Maddox, Malcom, Manny, Benson and Braden; as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her stepfather, Alfred Treadwell; her son, Michael Buchanan; her brother, David Patterson; her brother-in-law, Sabin Westerberg, and her half brother, Gordon Moore.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB, (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019 from 11:00 am to 12:30pm. A Celebration of Joan’s life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel at 1:00pm on Monday, September 23, 2019.
