Obituary of Willard Clarke

Mr. Willard "Bill" Clarke was born in Hibernia, NB on May 7, 1921; he was the son of the late Byron T. and Blanche C. Wilson (Clarke). Bill signed up with the Saint John Fusiliers in 1940 and transferred over to the Cameron Highlands of Ottawa. He served 5 years overseas; serving in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20, St. Paul's United Church, Choir, and the United Commercial travelers, the Golden "K", the Golden "K" Ramblers and the Happy Go Lucky Fiddlers. Bill also loved to Square Dance and was a caller for over 23 years. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Phyllis (Purcell) Clarke; his daughter, Heather Toole and her husband Fred of Saint John; his sons: John and his wife Doreen of Sussex and David of Fredericton; his grandson, Sean Clarke; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three sisters: Lydia, Jennie and Annie and by his brother, Theodore.
