Obituary of Carl Allen McLellan

Mr. Carl Allen McLellan (Wilb) was born in Sussex, NB on February 6, 1960.

Carl’s first memory of making money, and he liked money…was collecting bottles and cans along the ditch.  His first job was working on the garbage truck where they allowed him to bring home recyclables.

But this was just a stepping stone to his next Job.  Carl really wanted to work at the Irving Saw Mill and he would laugh when he told us how he lied about his age so he could get the job...he was only 15 at the time.

In 1981 he moved onto MMH. In the 38 years he worked there he never had a sick day.  Being a aerobic instructor, from way back, Carl moved into the position of overseeing the morning warm up for his coworkers.  Something he really enjoyed.  He has the big poster of the routine posted on the wall in his home.  Carl took great pride in his job, always giving and expecting the best as he did in all aspects of his life.

Community was important to Carl. He always talked about his volunteer work at Country Living Days and how much fun he had.  He even took up politics and ran for Town Council wanting to make positive changes for his fellow Sussexstonians.

Kawasaki’s, Mustang Cars, Guns and Roses, anyone that knew Carl would agree this was his passion for quite some time.  But in later years he moved on to his current passion which was buying, selling and collect gold, Silver, coins and old money.  But the constant in his life was his baby, the 1978 Kawasaki LTD 1000.

Uncle Carl loved his niece and nephews, whether it was out on the motorcycle, going to concerts, rolling around on the floor with them and the family pets or just being plain silly, and silly is one work that described Carl to a T when he got together with the kids, he became a Big Kid.

He will be sadly missed by his maw, Joan Cummings and her husband Lawrence of Southfield; his sister, June Jorgensen and her husband Paul of Sussex; his brother, Troy and his wife Karen of Southfield; his brother-in-law, Ken Gallie of Collingwood, ON; his nephews: Brock Jorgensen (Rosie), Drake Jorgensen (Kelsey), Bronsen McLellan and Branden McLellan; his niece, Tianna McLellan (Jordan Dyer; his great nephew, Andrew and his great niece, Alyce; as well as several extended family members and friends.

Mr. Carl Allen McLellan (Wilb) of Sussex passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 2, 2019 at the age of 59.

He is predeceased by his father, Allen McLellan and by his sister, Phyllis McLellan-Gallie (Wilb).
